Ouvindo Brian Eno - Dead finks don´t talk (1974)

    Oh perfect masters

    They thrive on disasters

    They all look so harmless

Till they find their way up here.

But dead finks don't talk too well

They've got a shaky sense of diction

It's not so much a living hell

    It's just a dying fiction.

8 Reasons Nirvana's 'Nevermind' Is The Most Important Rock Album of All Time

    Amplify’d from www.alternet.org

Other albums might have influenced the sound of music in certain ways, might have been important to rock’s trajectory. But none of them changed the culture at large so vastly, so roughly and so immediately. Even the hippies of the ‘60s counterculture weren’t influenced and changed so distinctly as those of us living in a post-Nirvana world. In a way, the strange epoch we’re stuck with now is both a reflection and a result of the way Nevermind affected us; we are living the chaotic meaninglessness the album prophesied, even more than the shitshow that was the 1990s. If Nevermind was an existential statement, we’ve been blasted into the apocalypse.

The Untold Story in Libya: How the West Cooked Up the “People’s Uprising”

    Amplify’d from whowhatwhy.com

What the media has so relentlessly characterized as the “spontaneous uprising” of February 2011 was hardly spontaneous. It began even before the Arab Spring itself commenced in Tunisia during December of last year—and it was orchestrated by the West.

Ok, so certain Western powers wanted, really, really badly, to oust Qaddafi. But why exactly? France’s intra-European competitive motive was certainly one factor. But there was more.

Back in 2007, European Union leaders were seriously toying with the idea of NATO-izing the entire Mediterranean, turning it into the new mare-nostrum originally contemplated in Roman days

Leading the way was the investment bank Goldman Sachs. Qaddafi and his advisers trusted Goldman’s claims that it would turn handsome profits with any funds entrusted to it. Yet Goldman managed to lose an astonishing 98 percent of the funds, which were the Libyan people’s sovereign wealth.

    Amplify’d from mplayer.pastemagazine.com
Leonard Cohen to Release Career-Spanning Box Set
Titled The Complete Albums Collection, the box set will feature all 17 of Cohen’s studio and live albums repackaged in CD jackets that will mirror the original LPs. It will also include a 36-page booklet featuring an essay as well as detailed recording information about each album.

His song “Hallelujah” is often ranked among the greatest songs ever written and has been covered by countless musicians.

    Amplify’d from www.huffingtonpost.com

R.E.M. announced their break-up today, after 31 years as a band. It's sad news indeed, but you know what? They've put out 15 studio albums, 64 singles, and stayed relevant, receiving warm reviews for this year's Collapse Into Now. If they want to stop making music, we can be satisfied with nostalgia. So join us as we travel down R.E.M. lane, from their very first single, 1981's "Radio Free Europe," to this year's "Oh My Heart." Take a listen, and let us know your favorite R.E.M. song or live experience in the comments.
