Self-made hotel and real estate tycoon Leona Helmsley was right to name her pampered pooch Trouble. The ill-tempered Maltese was said to be a fitting companion to the legendary “Queen of Mean.” At the time of her caretaker’s death in 2007, Trouble was bequeathed 12 million dollars, inciting judgement from every corner of America. So it’s fitting that even in death Trouble seems to stir controversy, as her passing is shrouded in mystery. We hope Trouble finally finds peace, yet can’t help but wonder why the Maltese’s death was kept such a secret.
