Kubrick’s ‘Shining’ Assistant Says ‘Room 237′ is “Pure Gibberish”

 For over a year now, we’ve been telling you about Room 237, the odd, insightful, and frequently hilarious examination of the countless theories that have popped up around Stanley Kubrick’s The Shining. It’s all good, weird fun, but the New York Times went the extra mile in preparation for its release: they tracked down Stanley Kubrick’s personal assistant on the shoot, who predictably dismisses the picture’s theories as “total balderdash.” (He’s British.) 

“I was falling about laughing most of the time,” Leon Vitali (who was present throughout the shoot) told the Times.
